Short answer
C245 is JBC's general-purpose cartridge range for its T245 handle: T245 is the handle, C245 the tip. JBC rates the T245 at 150 W peak and describes it as suited to both SMD work and high-power jobs such as ground-plane soldering. Several third-party stations take C245-format tips; they share the format, but JBC's figures do not apply to them.
Key facts
- Original maker
- JBC (T245 handle, C245 cartridges)[1][2]JBC also lists C245E and C245L cartridge ranges for the same handle.
- Rated power
- 150 W peak (JBC T245 handle)[1][3]JBC's CDB station lists 175 W nominal and 130 W tool peak with the T245-A; delivered power depends on the control unit.
- Handle / iron
- JBC T245 (T245-A on JBC stations)[1][3][4]JBC also lists the T245 as a compatible handle for its C210-based CDS station.
- Typical use
- SMD work and high-power jobs such as ground planes[1]JBC's own description of the T245 handle.
- 120 V / North America
- Yes: JBC sells 120 V stations, such as the CDB (CD-1BQF)[3]The CDB comes as CD-9BQF (100 V), CD-1BQF (120 V) and CD-2BQF (230 V); the cartridge is sold separately.
Watch out for
- T245 is the handle, C245 the cartridge. Check whether a listing sells a handle, a station or tips before you order.
- JBC's figures stay with JBC. The 150 W peak rating and JBC's claim that its cartridges last up to five times longer than other brands describe JBC's own handles and stations, not third-party "C245" stations or tips.
- C245 and C210 do not swap. C245 cartridges fit the T245 handle, while C210 cartridges fit JBC's T210, B.100 and B.500 precision handles. A station that takes both needs both handles.
- The YIHUA 982-III's C245 version is described by the seller. A YIHUA-branded spec page lists only C115 and C210 handle packages for the 982-III, so confirm the handle and the 120 V rating in the listing before ordering.
What fits
Product details below are the seller's own description unless a source is shown. Pick the variant named for each item.
C245 station (120 V)
YIHUA 982-III precision soldering station (C115/C210/C245)Choose the 982-III C245 set, 120 V US variant.
A YIHUA-branded spec page documents the 982-III only with C115 and C210 handles, so the C245 set rests on the seller's description. Check the handle and the 120 V rating in the listing.

Who it suits: benches that mix fine SMD work with heat-hungry joints such as ground planes, battery leads and shield tabs. It is the suggested system for laptop board repair, HDMI port repair and FPV drone work.
Room to grow: several C245-format stations also accept a C210 precision handle (AiXun lists T210/T245 models), and JBC lists the T245 as compatible with its C210-based CDS station, so you can add finer work later without changing station.
Questions
Is C245 better than T12?
For heavy joints it has more headroom: JBC rates its T245 handle at 150 W peak and names ground planes as a C245 job, while Hakko rates its T12 iron at 70 W. The two figures are measured differently, and for general bench work either system does the job.[1][7]
Are AliExpress C245 tips genuine JBC?
We could not confirm either way. We found no JBC statement listing authorized marketplace sellers, so we describe third-party tips as C245-compatible and do not assume JBC's quality or tip life.
